Valeda™ Light Therapy
A New Approach to Treating Dry Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD)
What Is Valeda?
Valeda is a non-invasive light therapy designed to help patients with dry age-related macular degeneration (AMD). It uses specific wavelengths of light to stimulate cells in the retina, supporting their function and health.
How Does It Work?
Valeda uses a process called photobiomodulation (PBM):
- Delivers gentle, low-level light into the eye
- Helps improve cellular energy production
- Reduces inflammation and oxidative stress
- Supports healthier retinal cells
This may help improve visual function in patients with dry AMD.
Who May Benefit?
Valeda may be recommended for patients who:
- Have dry AMD (early to intermediate stages)
- Are experiencing gradual vision changes
- Want a non-invasive treatment option
Your eye care provider will determine if you are a candidate.
Who Is Eligible for Valeda?
Valeda is designed for patients with dry AMD with:
- Best corrected visual acuity between 20/32 and 20/70
- Presence of medium or large drusen and/or
- Presence of non-central geographic atrophy
If you are receiving injections, this treatment is not for you.
If you have very early AMD that is not yet affecting your vision, this treatment is not for you.
